Pone Horses was founded by Stefan Herman, whose passion for horses began in childhood on his family’s farm in Germany. What started as a personal passion evolved into a family legacy spanning three generations.
Stefan’s vision was simple yet profound: to breed horses that combine European bloodlines with the resilience needed for Africa’s diverse climates. After decades of selective breeding and careful adaptation, the Pone Horses herd represents the culmination of this vision.
Today, Stefan works alongside his wife Elena and their two children, maintaining the hands-on approach that has defined their success. Each horse in our care receives personal attention, as we believe that exceptional animals come from exceptional care.

Stefan Herman acquires his first miniature horses, beginning selective breeding for temperament and hardiness.
